Bio

profile_websiteMy name is Mathieson Facer and I am a technical director in the computer graphics industry. I am a graduate of the Multimedia 3D Computer Animation, diploma program, and 3D for Production: Broadcast Design, post-graduate program, from Humber College in Toronto, Ontario.

At the early age of two, my mother introduced me to modeling and acting.  I appeared in several print ads, commercials, television series, films, and soon became a member of Actra.   At the age of eight my family moved and work slowed down, but I always maintained a strong interest in movies and acting.

Throughout elementary and secondary school I found my strongest areas of study to be art and math.  (My mother is an artist and father is an actuary, so I guess that makes sense.)  I also took a Visual Basic course in high school which I enjoyed immensely and did very well in.  I decided to follow this path through to University, but quickly found that it was not for me and changed direction.

It was around this time that 3D animation was really starting to come into its own with releases of Finding Nemo, Shrek, Monsters Inc., and it caught my attention.  With my interests in movies and strengths in school, I realized this might be a good area for me to explore as a career.  I applied to several schools and was fortunate enough to be accepted into the program at Humber.

I have now worked with companies worldwide on animated series, commercials, AAA game titles, feature films, even architecture and engineering related projects.  Every project has been unique with its own set of challenges to sort out, which has kept things interesting and helped me to become a quick learner.  I have really enjoyed working in this industry and look forward to the years to come!
